I suspect I need some ideas as to whether or not it is a good idea to have any budesonide on hand if travel is in the future and pollen is still aggravating the gut?Keep a diary and gauge if histamine reactions are causing inflammation... This can be pollen, chemicals- ie cleaning the shower, or getting hair dyed, or going into an industrial polluted area, going into damp mouldy house.

Sure, you wouldn't be the first member here to do that. That's assuming that you respond to it. And as Martha mentioned, if you take it for longer than a week or so you might have to do at least a short to medium length taper to wean back off of it in order to make sure that you don't trigger a relapse because of the rebound effect that corticosteroids can have on mast cells. For a short treatment of just a week or so you probably wouldn't need to taper the dose.Linda wrote:Is it possible to just take this medication for a short time while traveling? Would that work?
I probably didn't word that in the best possible way. I was referring to taking some budesonide as insurance while traveling if she feels that it would be helpful.Martha wrote:I would definitely get insurance on the trip.
