Back with my annual flare. This one was definitely triggered by stress -- we decided to downsize in order to get a house without stairs and one that was smaller and easier to take care of. Signed a contract to build in March; since then, it was packing, fixing up the old house so we can eventually sell it, going through the mortgage application process (not for the feint of heart since the housing bust), hiring movers, finally moving earlier this month, getting the new house set up, and prepping for a garage sale at the old one (which was yesterday and today).
All of that of course set off a flare, which I'm trying to handle, as usual, without medical intervention. I had a couple of days of improvement this past week, so I thought I'd try the Magnesium Threonate I just got. It's the kind that's supposed to cross the blood-brain barrier, which ordinary Mg supplements don't do. Read the instructions on the label: "Take three capsules a day; two during the day, and one 1 -2 hrs. before bedtime". So I popped two about mid-afternoon, and the third around 7 PM…..
At 1:30 AM I began what I can only describe as Colonoscopy Clean-out, Lite ……. By 6:00 AM I had warmed the seat on the potty at least six times, and had another day of a garage sale ahead…..

I then re-read the instructions, where I found this: "Begin with one capsule and gradually work up to three". Too late….. the damage was done. My gut is now back to square one, after the all-out assault from the Mg, and is protesting the attack with vigor.
Anyway -- it's nice to be back in the company of folks who understand, and won't judge my idiocy too harshly….
