MICROSCOPIC COLITIS SUPPORT

Does anyone have any knowledge on pregnancy and MC? My GI said there shouldn't be an issue but he's also the one who had me do an endoscopy after a 5 day gluten challenge. I didn't know I was pregnant during the endoscopy (very early) and I miscarried at 8.5 weeks. My OB feels it "could have been" from going under during the endoscopy.

I got pregnant a month after the miscarriage and sadly am miscarrying again at 5 weeks. I completely stopped taking my lomotil since it's a C class drug and pregnancy makes you constipated anyway (yea!). So there wasn't a medication issue.

I'm praying there are pregnant success stories with MC and there is no correlation with my miscarriages. Fortunately I have 2 beautiful/healthy sons but we would love to add to our family...

I'm sorry to hear of those problems. According to our cumulative experience here among board members, and based on research of information available on the internet, I am not aware of any significant reason why MC per se, would contribute to the risk of miscarriage. Severe symptoms of dehydration, or other complications, of course, could indeed cause problems, if they were bad enough. Here are some past discussions about dealing with MC during pregnancy.
