I have had so few really good days that lasted all day that I felt like I needed to write this down. Most of my days don't get going until 10- 12 o'clock, but today I was determined to hit the farmer's market this morning that I got myself out of the house at 8 am with a cup of coffee and a banana as my boost. Found good parking, found my favorite duck egg guy and had a great conversation to go with the morning and walked away with some free pecans from him and a big smile.

Then I readied myself for a celebration at my Tai Chi temple (that I have not been able to go to for over 6 months) and took my cold rice, artichoke salad (so I could eat something) and looked forward to seeing old friends. I was not prepared for the overwhelming reception from these wonderful people. Lots of hugs and lots of good chi flowing! And there was even other food there that I could eat ( steamed salmon, broccoli, carrots- what else is there!).

So I am very much in belief that good friends and times are a big part of the healing process. I'm ready to start back next week with exercising and accepting my limitations.
These good folks will get me through this part of "getting my life back."

I did have to come home and rest, but the warmth of the day is still here. Like I was saying before, I just needed to write this down. Thanks for being here and allowing me to get this off my chest. Just felt like it needed to come out!

Love to all,

Laura

Hi Laura,

Wonderful update. Thanks for sharing. Your good day gives us all a boost, and a smile.

You're obviously well on your way to recovery, and it's great to see that you're getting your life back.

Love,
Tex

Thanks for sharing, Laura Ann. I'm seeing your post a day later but it made a great start to my day! Isn't it wonderful when we can do things that make us feel "normal" again?! For those starting out on this journey reading your post will help them find hope that they, too will be able to return to doing things once they are on their way to recovery. Your friends sound wonderful!

Way to go Laura. It really is great that you shared your experience with us, it just made me smile, people can really surprise us all the time.
I just love that your group offered steamed salmon, carrots and broccoli
as choices you were able to eat. I know I would have smiled and wanted to giggle if I would have been there to see it on the table too.
May this be the start of you getting your life back on your own terms. you can do it. red-haired girl
