I'm new to this site. Are most newcomers recommended to use Enterolab? I was diagnosed with lymphocytic colitis. Thank you! Al

I'm sure that you will hear from others, Al - but I've got to say that it was money well spent. I know that I can't have gluten, casein, soy and egg. It hurt seeing it in writing but knowledge is power. I also did the test for other antigenic foods and I know some foods that I can eat all the time and other that I should rotate. Others have done quite well keeping a journal and doing an elimination diet. I'm an older Mom so I still have a High School age son and two daughters in college so life is busy. I felt that I didn't have the physical or mental time or space to be able to focus on the elimination diet. There is some type of test (antibody?) that is recommended to ensure that your sensitivities can be read with the Enterolab test. I know that it is mentioned in Tex's book, which I don't have available right now.

Do you have Tex's book? That is a wonderful resource to have.

Whether you do Enterolab or the elimination diet, you will feel more in control as you start to know that you can and can't have.

Good luck!!
Pam

Food Intolerances : Gluten, casein, soy, and avenin, (avenin is the prolamin in oats, which is equivalent to the gluten in wheat), beef, grapes, peanuts, cashews, almonds, (but nut butters seem OK except for peanuts), citric acid, chocolate, and agar.

Hi Al,

To add to what Pam posted, Enterolab is a fully-accredited lab, owned by a GI doc who has MC. Most gastroenterologists do not acknowledge the role of food sensitivities in MC (as I'm sure you already know), but virtually all members here who have ordered these tests have found them to be extremely helpful for selecting a safe recovery diet in order to minimize their inflammation and their recovery time.

It is suspected that some of the hardest material known to science can be found in the skulls of GI specialists who insist that diet has nothing to do with the treatment of microscopic colitis.
